Start with the product information
Ask for the supplier's supported storage conditions and transit guidance. Consider the material's dry or liquid state, packaging, expected duration and possible temperature exposure.
Questions worth asking
- What temperature conditions are supported for storage and shipping?
- What evidence or product information supports those conditions?
- How are long routes, summer heat and shipping delays handled?
- When are insulated packaging or temperature controls used?
- What happens if a shipment arrives outside the expected conditions?
Cold packaging is not the whole answer
A cold pack alone does not demonstrate a controlled shipping process. Where temperature control is required, packaging, duration, monitoring and handling all matter.
